This book had an excellent world and characters. I really enjoyed listening to the characters. The characters started off poorly, but grew into something I really enjoyed.
The Bad:
This was narrated by Sound Booth. I have NO IDEA why they put sound effects into the book, but they REALLY detract from the story. They had a section where they added “crickets”, since they were in the woods and I wanted to claw my ears out. Then the “tada” sound effects at significant moments, or to describe a item, etc. They totally drew you out of the story you were listening to. It was just awful. I’d have given it one more star if they hadn’t added those stupid awful sound effects.
