I have become an avid reader of the post-apocalyptic genre of books. Tom Abrahams is one of the finest. His Traveller series was great. I binged on that one. He has obviously done his research in the area of life after SHTF.

I enjoy how this book takes an average family, in an average situation, and plunges them into chaos. The author lets you into the thoughts and feelings of each character so well that you can almost feel what they feel. This is not part of a series, and if you are new to Tom Abrahams this would be a good way to sample his work, as you aren’t left with a cliffhanger. It is likely you will move on to one of his series though. You will just have to have more. Of course the narration is spectacular. I believe Kevin Pierce is the best out there, and anytime you can get him to narrate your book, you take your work to another level.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an exciting and smart read. Even those who do not usually read post apocalyptic literature would enjoy this book. Buy it. You won’t regret it.
