I loved the voice performances, with the exception being the echo effect for internal thoughts. Having two readers really helps with the voices.
I found the story progression to be a little slow. It didn’t feel like the main protagonist gained a lot of experience and/or grew much as a result of the main conflict. And the story as a whole seemed rather short. Still, I am going to give second book a chance to see if it picks up.
Also, the villain of this book was a marvelous concept and I loved it. I hope those types of horror elements come into play more as the story continues.
