Spoiler! Loved the first three books until the very last chapter. No one should ever let the dog die and I can’t see anyway jock could survive the situation. My third and fourth Golden Retrievers are sleeping at my feet as I type, so this is personal to me. It’s the first rule: don’t kill the dog. Book four isn’t on Audible yet and I don’t think I want to find out how the dog dies anyway. So, rave reviews until the last chapter of book three.
