The action continues in this third book of the series. I was drawn into the story immediately and felt the building suspense for the characters, whom I already felt I knew from the previous books. This increased attachment to the characters really made the story come alive to me. The post-apocalyptic conditions are well thought out and plausible. While the characters were already drawn into a civil war to fight for their freedoms, they have to deal with food shortages, a pandemic, worsening conditions, and possible invasions from countries seeking to take over while the US is knocked down. Kevin Pierce adds his own brand of magic, holding us captive with his voice. This series is an excellent addition to any Audible library.
