The book is excellent, though the performance is a little dry. True, the book should be somber when the grizzly “trouble” begins, but the background of the park could have been more lively.
There were a lot of warning signs, hindsight being 20-20 and all, but still… The Glacier Park Service knew better than to be so passive about habituated bears; at least their written regulations were. There are so many “what if’s” in what led up to these poor victims’ deaths. At least hard lessons were learned and rules about bear regulations changed.
