I almost didn’t read this book after reading so many awful reviews. But I thought it was a very good book! Yes, there was some naivete on the part of the 18 year old daughter, but she was a teenager! All teenagers are naive, too brave, impulsive. I “read” it right through and enjoyed it immensely, as I do all Chevy Stevens’s books. It was scary and too true and really happens. I almost put it down a couple of times because I was actually afraid to read any further because it could be so horrible. But all of the violence was dealt with correctly, if that’s the right word, without going into so much detail, as some authors do. There was violence, but there was also love and caring.
The narrator was very good, too. There was just enough variation among the female voices that you could tell who was who. Pronunciations were correct, no glaring accents.
Get it. I highly recommend it.
