Jacqueline Druga has a great understanding of what makes us scared. The stark reality of her books combined with the ebb and flow of the story will pull you into it as though you are living the terror. The story of a nuclear holocaust and those that are trying to survive afterwards is so real. You can’t help but to care for the characters. You understand their motivation and can agree 100%. Rarely does a book get to me so much that I actually cry when a character dies. Not only has Ms. Druga made me cry over the loss of a character, but this is the second book by her that has moved me to tears. I definitely look forward to more from her in the future.
Mr. Wehrlen was amazing as always. He breathes life into the characters as well. I have listened to several books narrated by him and I look forward to more in the future.
I was given a free preview copy of this audiobook and I am leaving a voluntary review.
