I’m not sure how I didn’t come across this gem sooner and I’m sure I had seen it around but it just wasn’t on my radar until recently. This book rekindled an interest that has slowly been fading in LitRPG lately even though the genre covers many things I love, it did so by bringing it back to what LitRPG was a few years ago when this was written where quite honestly lately I find myself dropping more and more of the newer releases due to them feeling soulless, and making choices that just don’t make sense, the only conclusion I can come up with is AI assisted writing because that’s what they read like. Then there is this, like I said it goes back to an earlier time in LitRPG written more like a proper table top dungeon crawler with some city building elements, just enough character background to make the character relatable to the target audience, and enough world building to keep the reader engaged. All of this is propped up further by the fantastic work of Soundbooth Theater and Andrea Parsneau I would now add this to the must listen or read list of any LitRPG fan.
