Mark Goodwin’s The Days of Noah:
I read the entire series because the author’s character development was well done and after the 1st Novel I was hooked, even though I had major difficulties. Where I struggled with the entire series though, was because of his focus of Christians taking up arms. I see neither Jesus nor Paul’s life or teachings substantiation the following words by Christians:
“Roll over or Fight, I’m gonna fight
“If there was going to be a fight I was bound and determined to fight also
“Extract their blood and pilfer their resources
“I’m not going out without a fight
“We will sabotage them. We will fight them off as long as we can.
“As long as we have breath we will fight.
“Nobody touches (name of a global leader) I’m going to kill that cocky little rooster myself.
“If we make a stand at least we take a few of them with us.
The entertainment value was wonderful, but I view the book like I do some Christian music. The words and music that are scriptural, I keep, the remainder, I don’t let lodge in my mind.
I liked the afterword, where the author says, “Don’t get your Eschatology from fiction.”
I look forward to The Days of Elijah.
