Overall, this is an entertaining story with some mystery aspects as the 2 MCs detective their way into stopping a demon from doing it’s big bad. The MCs are great. I really like that the author gave us insight into their thoughts and the backstory was a nice touch. The women characters seemed a bit too much. They felt like the archetype of the magic lesbian manic pixie fairies. I would have liked a bit more depth or genuine reason on why include them in the book at all other than as the computer hacker/healer/store statue plot device. The narrator is not good. Frankly, I dislike this narrator and I always get thrown out of suspension of disbelief when I listen to books narrated by him. His voice has this weird wavery reverberation that upsets me. And half the time he sounds like he has cotton in his mouth and is entirely too excited about it. That said, his voices for the women and other men side characters are actually really good. Go figure. All in all, this is a decent listen. It’d make a good pallet cleanser to waste an afternoon on.
