Great start to a LitRPG fantasy series. Corvin takes the “transported to an alien world” trope and puts a nice spin on it. Whatever this creature is that has pulled all these species together calls himself a god but acts like a spoiled brat that has too much power. This is a wonderful story with great dialog, interesting characters and a lot of fun. As always, Jeff Hays does a remarkable job bringing everything to life! You will often forget that this is one person portraying all of these characters.
Although this story is not appropriate for kids, I am giving this a 4 out 5 because I sometimes found the use of swear words a bit excessive and unnecessary. There are plenty of times it is appropriate and even called for, but there are just as many times where Henry’s use comes across completely crass and takes away from the story and characters.
Regardless, this is a very entertaining story that you will not be able to put down – or pause since it is audible. I cannot wait to listen to the rest of the series!
