No harems, no slavery, no rape fantasies, no racism, no sexism.
Lot’s of blood, guns, blades and growth.
I almost did not chose this novel because a review painted the protagonist as an overly sensitive adult emo crybaby.
I am so glad I decided to take a risk. I am a 6′, 230lb heterosexual male and all I saw was a well adjusted adult man who was working his but off to hold himself and the community together right after losing everyone he loved.
This novel was short, but the author poured everything into the story. The characters were 3 dimensional, the women where not juvenile fantast constructs and the adventures had real consequences.
I happily give this first novel 5 stars. I wish I could find more adult fantasy like this,
