Sometimes all the various story ideas get thrown in a blender, and what comes out is a strawberry trout smoothie. This time, for whatever reason, it works. It’s a pretty fresh take on a crowded field, without being any kind of existential genius. Great read, but if you get distracted for half a chapter, not one you’ll rewind to squeeze out every last detail.
