This is the second book I’ve read/listened to by this author. This one is an uncomplicated, entertaining listen.
Sam Wade is a Navy Seal. His job and his father-in-law were pivotal factors in his marriage ending. Now, his ex-wife is scheduled to undergo heart surgery and she’s asked Sam to go accompany their daughter from Boston back home. His ex-wife hopes the two of them will be able to connect on the travels back. Sam is unaware of how manipulative his father-in-law has been. The day he’s to pick up his daughter, the power grid goes down. Seeing her after so many years is not the only challenge they and their companions will face on their efforts to return to Boston.
This is the sixth book I’ve listened to by this narrator ( Kevin Pierce ) and I’ve enjoyed everything of his I’ve listened to. He does this genre well. His voices are not extremely diverse, but all are individual enough to tell who is speaking.
His female voices are well done.
There are no explicit sex scenes, excessive violence. There is some swearing.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this unbiased review.
