The characters had motivations I could believe. the concepts in worldbuilding were interesting and presented in little bits that made sense, rather than a data dump that wouldn’t happen between real people. It didn’t feel like the author was padding the wordcount with stat checks. I appreciates that the story concluded in an appropriate place, and although there is a flow towards the next book, it didn’t feel like a manipulative cliffhanger like other authors use.

I enjoyed listening to Jeff Hays, because his different voice sounded different. He didn’t sound rushed nor overly dragged out. Annie’s work was fine but her characters were meant to be grating so I can’t say it was enjoyable. Her skill was quite evident though.
