I love Natasha Knight’s stories and I was so looking forward to this second book in Santos and Madelena’s Duet that I went back and listened to book 1 again so I could really enjoy this listen. However, and sadly, this second book didn’t quite hold my attention or grip me quite like the first one did and it was very predictable. Yes, there was a twist or two and some suspense and danger along the way, but Santos stubbornly continued to not let Madelena in and this time there seemed to be more angst and friction between them than chemistry. The sex was demanding and claiming but it lacked the sweet sentiments and smoulder that should’ve been between them too. And who left those damning all-important clues in the Motel?

Worth a credit? The dual POV narration was good and, despite all I’ve said above, the storyline was entertaining enough for me to listen until the too rushed HEA end where finally Santos gets his answers.. and sentences his enemies to pain. So it’s a 🤷🏻3.5 star maybe answer this time.
