For two years Verity Hawkes has been hiding in her apartment not dealing with the grief of her husband’s death. An unexpected phone call from her eccentric aunt’s attorney turns her life upside down as she travels across the country to take charge of her missing (presumed dead) aunt’s estate and business. Arriving in Leafy Hollow, Verity discovers her aunt’s house is run down and her lawn and garden business is on the verge of collapse. Very shortly, Verity finds herself the subject of a murder investigation. With the help of her new friends, Verity and crew set off to solve the mystery of the murder. Through it all with humor and unexpected twists, Verity discovers there is hope after death, friends are made and there is a life to be lived.

This cozy mystery was very enjoyable to listen to. The periodic Canadian references were a fresh change of pace. The narrator was good and did a credible job voicing the various characters.

I will look forward to future books in the series.
