I was looking for something light-hearted and fun to lift my mood and quickly moved from book 1 to book 2. Again, we follow Eric, this time he navigates life in a small town with the added twist that his mother-in-law in in town for a visit. She is the quirkiest mother-in-law you can imagine and many shenanigans ensue. Eric tries his hardest to manage fixing up his house, tending the allotment (community garden) and family relationships. His wife Suzie is my favorite character as she seems to be a rock to the family.

The characters are fun, the plot moves along quickly, and there are so many great one-liners that keep me laughing. The narrator is the perfect fit for the story, bringing Eric and his family to life with perfection. I highly recommend this entire series!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
