This is book is exactly what I expect when I pick up Rick R Reed to listen to. An hauntingly, emotional story that pulls me in and has me fixated on the characters, getting to know them and understand them. Winslow and Chad have a turbulent relationship, with Winslow finding himself in a predicament he needs to get out of. With the help of his new friend, Darren, he is able to get away, but where he settles into is not a place he expects to land. And our story begins. It’s a little bit fantasy, but has so many relevant issues that it’s easy to understand and relate to. Each person Winslow encounters is warm and inviting, much different than his other life. And Darren proves to be a person he wants to get to know better. The question is will Chad let him go? This is story had me from the start as I began the journey, trying to figure out what was going on, and worried for all of the involved. I loved how it flowed and fell into place as things progressed. It’s a fabulous listen.
David Allen Vargo is a talent I truly enjoy. He dives into the story, finds the perfect voices for each character and makes the story come alive like a movie in my mind. His narration is descriptive with not only his voice, but the effects that are enhancing the listen. I love to hear his performances and truly enjoyed this one.
