The narration and performance is excellent and I do really enjoy listening to the story. At the five hour mark I started to realize that this is one of the most boring books I’ve ever read. There’s five whole minutes of excitement and the rest, nothing. No advances in skill or power or interesting arcs. Just a very boring story. If you can even call this book a story in itself. It feels like an eight hour first chapter of a book. And the fact that I will have to pay seven or more credits to get some semblance of a single story, seems ridiculous to me. I’m not sure I will buy book 2.
