Karl Marx was two things, he was a historian and he was a science fiction writer in that he predicted a future, called for a future and talked about the future as if he could say what was going to happen next. As a historian, he was one of the greatest strains we’ve ever had, and we all use his insights all the time. Even if he gets denounced as a science fiction writer, he’s the same as all the rest of us because we’re all science fiction writers. In other words, no good at it. You can’t predict the future. The future, he predicted in the eighteen, seventies and eighties did not come to pass. And so when we use his thoughts now when we talk.
