This story is better than most. It’s not just your run of the mill MM romance. I listen to a lot of MM. Some are merely enjoyable but they use the same tropes, same characters, same plot twists over and over again. Basically they are just plot filler between sex scenes. This story actually has some substance to it. The first book in this series was a little flat from the crime perspective but I do like books where the protagonists don’t just fall in love over night. This installment was an improvement on that. The progression of Josh’s and Gabe’s relationship is fun, interesting and yes suitably steamy and it’s nicely balanced out with some who dunnit? crime. Normally I can see a plot twists coming a mile away but this book left me going: Wait! WHAT? and I was seriously dismayed to find the next book not yet available. ?
If you like an MM book that’s a little different from the most give this book a go.
Joel as ever is perfection. So Always full marks there.
