This is NOT Oz! She got a winner in it and is apparently trying to repeat the formula. It doesn’t work. There’s no magic, no connection, and is quite simply boring. In fact, I wouldn’t give the time of day for the entire series. I couldn’t even finish the first book because Gabe is so completely detestable. I did love Jude in the first book so decided to give his story a go.

Furthermore, while I am impressed with the abilities of the narrator, the entire time I felt like I was listening to Oz and Silas. Every expression, every mannerism, every sexual encounter was exactly the same. The difference is while I did somewhat like Silas, I find Asa completely unlikable. Even the man-bun was a total turnoff!
