Overall I’d rate the story 3.75 stars. For an 8 hour book I have to say not much happened. This is a captive story that is a little different than others. For starters the captives are more or less willing due to the elixir they take. Over time they want to be there with Sully. Where I struggled a bit is that there was too much internal dialogue IMO and overuse of certain words like goddess for example. The beginning was good and we even get a few cameos from characters in other books. The middle is where I needed more. I was a bit confused that the heroine went from not saying a peep when held by the traffickers to not being able to hold her tongue with Sully. I also would like to know what makes her so special to have everyone want her and not the other girls on the Island. The ending of course is where things finally get interesting and then bam it’s over. I am a little concerned that this looks like at least a 5 book series. I have found that long book series tend to be drawn out and I hope that is not the case with this one. I absolutely loved Pepper’s Monster in the Dark series so I am definitely going to continue and see where the story goes. I need to know what happens!
Narration was great! It was duet style and everything flowed perfectly.
