Sincere kudos to Louisa Masters for creating a race that is so uniquely independent from traditional dragons. Her dragons are so funny because of their genuine curiosity, desire to experience EVERYTHING, their bluntness and lack of shame. No subject is off limits for them to inquire about (usually at an inappropriate moment). Fabian is the dragon who enjoys the carnal things of our world so much. In this story, he finds someone that not only lights his s3xual fires, but engages his mind and heart. A seriously fun book from cover to cover. The CSG is looking for a solution to a serious world wide problem that may make magic use extinct, and though the subject itself is terrible and heartbreaking the story is woven with magic, dragons, sorcerers, deep thoughts about a zillion subjects, absurdly funny situations/comments, and excitement throughout. Plus, the CSG members (from the previous series) as well as all the dragons (and Percy) from this series are actively involved in the story. Joel Leslie *sigh* how does he do it? The man has my five star review on every book I own by him (I’m a bit of a hoarder of audiobooks). I put this audiobook on, and can literally see it happen in my head- he makes the story come to life. The people are so distinct from each other, the accents are fabulous, the timing, inflections… every character’s personality shines through Joel Leslie’s fantastic narration.
