I enjoyed reading this. Finally I found a book that realized the southern Plains does exist. 😁 I have just spent so much time I books located either on the coasts or north. What did not please me was the use of so many narrators. Initially I thought the would be doing a character throughout and I was okay with that. Unfortunately what I heard was just a different person reading different chapters. Really hindered keeping people straight. One chapter Jordan is played by Actor A – as we’re all the characters in that chapter. I did get that if the chapter was a female POV then a female narrated. Same with the gentlemen. But having all the actors do all the characters – not so good. One loses the essence of the characters, and that interferes with the flow of the book. If you are going to have that many actors involved, then pick one for the narrator and then assign characters to the others. Each of the character actors can have more than one character, just not the same as anyone else. Messed up a good story for me.
