So based on the cover and synopsis I thought this was going to mainly focus on a goblin character working his way up the ranks of the goblin world. I am two hours in and so far the entire story has been about the worlds biggest nerd who professionally farms in a WoW like game and is forced to restart his mage character as a goblin and he pisses and moans about it. There are basically pages upon pages describing what an online fantasy RPG, it is completely pointless, obvious and boring. The book is trying to be Ready Player One with drama outside the game, it falls flat though since the guy has no life outside the game and he never plays the game he just whines about his loss and calls his friend who works for the video game company. I am holding out in hopes that I get some exploration of life as a goblin but so far I have had nothing to indicate such and it is a real slog to listen.
