While the plot of the mystery was okay, I was immediately turned off by the stilted, stiff reading style of the narrator. Then I noticed the increasingly sickening descriptions, many lame and un-natural. Finally, the romantic content was very unrealistic and overly puritanical. I’ve read many Christian romance writers who still keep their writing honest and realistic. This wasn’t one of them. Additionally, books of this romantic nature idealize dangerous ideas, such as rushing into marriage while skipping dating or really getting to know one another.
