These Supervillainy Saga books started off cute and somewhat funny, quick and entertaining listens. With the third book in the series, the author gives up the simple art of storytelling in order to lecture other characters, and thus the readers, about social justice dogmas. The intrusions don’t add to the story in any way, except to virtue signal, and they jar the reader away from caring about the characters or the plot. The intrusion of dogma over story now pervades many books and movies that might otherwise have something to say and bogs them down into preachy diatribes rather than stories that we can relax and enjoy. I won’t be buying any more books from the series or the author.
