it’s so weird the way the author attempts to create tension that somebody might die in a given situation but that makes zero sense. in reality the only thing being avoided is an inconvenient respawn point but it’s written as though these people aren’t just in a video game. also this part is a spoiler but finn losing his arm permanently also makes even less sense. they come up with multiple plans to commit suicide by blowing themselves up into a million pieces and burning to nothing in lava. in both cases they come back whole. but Finn somehow won’t get his arm back because there’s metal stonching the stump of his arm. by the rules laid out in the series he could jump in the lava then return back to normal. but differently he’s just handicapped now in a vain attempt to give the protagonist more adversity. that could’ve been done a million different ways that would’ve actually fit in this works. it’s just nonsense
