After I read Hunter’s Claim I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Saber’s book.. But this book felt like it was written as an overview of the story. Lot’s of time skips , just dropping in to give an overview of what has happened and a conversation or two. That left me very unsatisfied, I never felt in the story.

When I read the synopsis I thought it was an interesting, exciting , dynamic way to tell Taylor and Saber’s story.. It was handled poorly imo.. SPOILERS ahead

Yes, Taylor was young and it was a given that Saber was waiting for her, but since he was injured at the end of Hunter’s Claim, we are told that Taylor has been going over to deal with depressed Saber for 5 YEARS!. Five years where he has no intention of claiming her but still lets her come everyday to try and buck him up. Does that make me like either character? No. He’s a selfish mofo who should have let her go years ago if he wasn’t going to claim her and she put WAY too much time in a person who feels sorry for himself and won’t do anything about it. imo.. Two reasons why I stopped reading this book is because after 5 years he sleeps with her and then dumps her the next morning. Nice.. She goes off to another planet that’s in trouble and now his two friends Hunter and Dagger come over to tell him to stop feeling sorry for himself.. and … he DOES!! Who knew? One talk with his friends made him change, not the 5 years Taylor put in. UGH.. I just didn’t feel anything for this story and I am sad because I wanted this one.
