This book contains:
First person perspective of eyes getting stabbed out
First person perspective of human canibalism
First person perspective of possession and self mutilation
Character death on a level George R.R. Martin can only dream about
Narratively railroading the main character into horrible situations
Complete removal of any semblance of character agency

To be fair, the content itself isn’t surprising considering the previous books in the series. What was shocking was the increase in amount and the massive spike in intensity and descriptive gore.

If this the new trend, I don’t think that I can physically continue the series.

Despite the revolting content, the vocal performance is exemplary.
