I don’t know why people write books that have main characters getting the shit kicked out of them over and over, losing one fight after another or only winning fights because stuff outside of their planning and control conspires to benefit them. It is very frustrating and not satisfying in the least to read. I don’t remember the other books being this way. It is also frustrating to read about a nemesis that continues to frustrate the hero and mess with his plans through luck, incompetence, or simply to move the plot forward. Personally I find that to be lazy writing as well as very annoying. Overall I found myself disappointed and frustrated by the end of this book, and can’t think of a single moment where I was excited. Unlike the previous books this one was hard for me to finish.
