They “barked out a laugh” so many times, I started to wonder if they were dogs. I noticed a lot of repetition in the characters’ actions and words and it became frustrating. I could see some of it being done to create a certain effect, but most of the time it was pointless.
There was also a lot of padding, unnecessary descriptions of actions that just bogged down the story.
The narrator had a wobbly voice and at times I thought he was about to cry.
CJ and Noah were wonderful together, but I felt the obstacles holding them apart were weak and too easily resolved. Not enough tension.
