I quite liked the first book in the series despite a few flaws so I decided to try the second but things have definitely taken a turn for the worse.
No amount of good narration could compensate for how stupid the heroine has become in this book, nor the many caricature characters and obvious plotting inconsistencies.
However, I’m a sucker for the setting, (and the dog, and also the baker I suppose) so I’ll give the third book a shot to see if it improves.
(if nothing else I could recommend these first couple of books as light Christmas reading if you live downunder and crave a white Christmas)
