Unfortunately, not even Joel Leslie could keep me entertained enough to finish this one. I did enjoy the cameos of seeing Blue and past characters from the Black & Blue series, but don’t think you’d need to read the series before trying this to know who is who – there’s a good amount of backstory explanations going on.
This just felt like it slogged on and on. There’s a lot of unnecessary plot line set ups going on, a meh haunted house ghost story, and meh relationship chemistry between the love interest. Also, both POVs for Will and Jem felt like the same voice, and I don’t think we needed Jem’s POV. I thought I was halfway through with the book only to see I had 6ish hours left before deciding that this one isn’t working for me.
