I’ve read or listened to several books in this series, and in general, I enjoy them. This one, however, left me a little cold. Perhaps it was because they got intimate really fast, and it wasn’t the steamy and sticky actions I enjoy in those types of scenes, so I didn’t find it particularly enjoyable to listen to. I’m not sure why this is called book two of the Captured by a Dragon-Shifter series, as the hero is a cat shifter, not a dragon shifter. One thing I do enjoy in all these books is how incredibly earnest and literal the shifters are from Qurilixen, whether cat or dragon shifters. That certainly adds moments of humor. I did find it amusing in this book how none of the hero’s family believed him a first that he was ready to settle down and had found his mate. The narrator did a decent job, but I just never connected with the characters or understood their intense attraction to each other. The author usually does a better job pulling in my interest and keeping it.
