Did not enjoy this at all.

Narrator was exceedingly slow. Even at 1.20x the pacing was awful.

The story was just full of women needing to be rescued and corrected by males. I’m not even some extremist feminist, but this story didn’t feel right.

And it was just not really a great story.

The protagonist made some awful decisions, was seemingly very sexist, and awfully brutal also.

The bad guys (with the amazingly inventive name of “New Men”) were just more pompous versions of the main character. With super powers though!

Just… Horrendous. All the characters felt flat and empty.

I don’t normally write actual reviews for books, but this one was just so amazingly bad (of course this is just my opinion, I’m not educated enough to actually point out issues) that I had to write something. I absorb a staggering amount of Sci-fi literature, and never have I disliked a story this much.

I mean I read through all of the “saga of the seven suns” and liked that horrible marathon so much more than this.

I don’t plan on reading any of the follow up books.
