The writing was only meh.
I would give five stars to the world building as it was well crafted and thought out.
I would give 4 stars to the characterization as the characters were highly relatable and easy to cheer on.
However the actual writing only earns 1.5 to 2 stars. Extremely pulpy with bad timing. Some points dragged and others felt rushed. I have enjoyed this kind of writing in the past when the author was at least humorous but that is not the case here.
I wonder if the author plays D&D because with his skills I would love to have him as a GM. Unfortunately I probably won’t be buying anymore of his books
Still when you compare a single credit to the length you get it is worth the purchase it is not an awful purchase. I have no regrets when it comes to my choice of this book.
The narration? I gave it a four stars but I was impressed with his skills. However, if you have seen great actors with bad scripts, it was kinda like that.
