This is the start of a new Post-Apocalyptic series due to an EMP. Some of the characters you may hate others that are likeable. Prepper Abram Patterson and his wife Shelly have been developing a safe compound for years in Vermont with help of his best friend Gary but it is not 100% complete when the EMP hits. His daughter Emma invites her best friend Corey to join her along with his father Nick Caulfield and sister Rae Ann after they left with her Aunt Maggie (a nurse). Corey finally convinces his father but when they stop for gas his car is high jacked and left walking long distance until Joshua p picks them up. Cary becomes a troublemaker and they haven’t even started planting when trouble occurs. Cannot wait for next book, just listen to the great narration, favorite character is Corey.
