So… the storyline was good, and I enjoyed it overall. But there were parts of the book that just weren’t for me. I couldn’t get past some of the character’s actions and words. I understand (hope anyway) that some of the treatment of others is supposed to mimic or expose real-life inequities. Still, I didn’t feel as it was always used optimally. It made it hard for the main character to be fully redeemed in my eyes.

It is a good story, and maybe I’m missing out jumping into the series. I think that many would enjoy it. I did enjoy overall even if it’s not a relisten or top of the pile.
