Overall I liked the writing but not the story focus. The heavy focus on making the antagonist seem like a good guy and the protagonist feel like a side character with minimal time spent developing his story, powers or character. The antagonist story tries to paint him as a victim that went a little too far. In reality it’s a short period of time in their history used to justify doing horrific things. While the antagonist is capable of good but so are all bad people. I’m simply not a fan trying to humanize evil in a positive light. All the while the protagonist is being placed in a world and told the antagonist has done nothing wrong and to get over it.
