Pretty good story following along the same lines as the first. It’s an entertaining listen and worth the credit. If you’re a fan of the genre you’ll like this book. I’m glad there’s no harems or anything like that.

I’d have given it a five star rating except for a few things that bugged me.

– Star Trek – Every so often the author disappears into Star Trek metaphor land that to me is like speaking a foreign language, and I have no idea what meaning was supposed to be conveyed with the Star Trek references.

– MC forgets his own abilities. Example: “I promise in my god’s name I will resurrect every single soldier that falls in battle.” 10 minutes later after the first engagement…. Talks about losing friendly soldiers and the importance of maintaining numbers. No resurrections. Seems like some abilities are intentionally forgotten to make things harder for the character.

– Too much laughing. Sometimes the narrator decided to add laughter which sounded kinda forced. Sometimes it’s because the text indicated that people laughed, chuckled, etc, other times it was just added at a point where apparently they imagined people laughing even though it wasn’t written. Once in a while was okay, but after a while I started getting a mental countdown after certain words before an awkward laugh was inserted.
