The Fetishists by A.S. Coomer was…crazy? unexpected? not for the faint of heart? sexually explicit? What can I say about this book? Well, it’s not really my cup of tea, though I would definitely say that it does fit in well with the classic film noir horror genre…with a good does of some pretty explicit sexual stuff including torture, humiliation, S&M, etc. Jefferson Wellman is a real POS. That being said, he’s invited to “bid” on partners at a gathering. He wants a ponygirl. He gets his ponygirl. He wants to hurt and torture his ponygirl. Before he knows it, he wakes up in his own private hell, with bodies everywhere and no clue chat’s going on. If this sounds like a fun listen, then check it out! Like I said, it wasn’t my cup of tea, but it wasn’t a bad story. Make sense?
Sean Duregger did a good job with bringing the characters to life with his narration. He changed his voice and inflections to really match what was going on with the characters at any given time and rad with a good cadence.
