I have loved everything Pepper Winters has written and Once a Myth is no exception. Eleanor Grace is enjoying her life before settling into adulthood and finding a real job by backpacking around the world with her boyfriend. Then as she is preparing food in the kitchen of the hostel she is staying in with her boyfriend, masked men barge in and her world is no longer her own. She wakes up to a living nightmare as she is being held prisoner. This is a particularly difficult part to listen to. But just when Eleanor fears for the worst, she finds herself sold and sent to a tropical island. Sullivan Sinclair is the mastermind and the creator of this paradise island for those who can afford it, a place where all fantasies are fulfilled. Sully believes he is a God. And the women, the slaves on the island are his Goddesses. Sully is manipulative and controlling, and his Goddesses are more than willing to service the men who pay exorbitantly to have them. Sully does not mix business with pleasure but he cannot deny that he is captivated by the new slave, Eleanor Grace. As for Eleanor, she refuses to be a victim and stands up to this enigma. Eleanor knows that to survive she should probably not be verbally combative with Sully Sinclair but she feels confused by him. As the story starts to unveil, the suspense builds, the intensity rises and I can’t wait to find out what happens after the bomb of the cliff hanger drops at the end!!! So excited for the next book in the series “Twice a Wish”.

Sarah Puckett and Scott Rider are awesome narrators. They bring these characters and the story to life. I feel they captured the array of emotions of all the characters.
