I had such a good time listening to The Feedback Loop volume one, that I jumped right in for volume two. And it did not disappoint. The first-person perspective and relentless barrage of jazz-age noire vernacular were right up my alley. This is not for the kids. It’s gritty, but a ton of fun, Packed with references, but not in a Ready Player One kind of way. This is more like constant similes to (sometimes) obscure cultural references. The story is full of action, too, so there’s a lot to parse, all the time. I was constantly stimulated. Great fun, and Jeff Hays nails the whole thing.
