I don’t know if this is technically young adult but felt like they disneyfied the interpersonal relationships too much. By the end of the 3rd book the protagonist has been with his girlfriend for at least 2 1/2 years but she still only ever kisses him on the cheek. I realize that it was not supposed to be a romance story and I am so GRATEFUL there was no sex in the story but at some time it should have passed the point of 6th grade love. It kind of broke the ability to suspend my sense of disbelief coloring the whole book.
