I enjoyed Cronins Key 2. This time around Cronin, Alec, Jodis, Eiji, Kennard, Kole and the rest of the supporting cast were all present and accounted for. This story was not as exciting as the first, didn’t seem as tightly woven, with some inconsistancies in the Ghengis Khan story line which sort of fizzled out at the end. I guess the whole plot was to circle around to the story of Alec and dad Kole’s ancestry, Alec’s future as a vampire and the path to that end, but …although I dearly love NR Walkers writing, and is still an auto buy for me, the build up for this story was a tiny bit lackluster, repetitive and the climatic ending was kind of anticlimatic. And I’m always a bit disappointed when a regular guy ends up being “super” power guy. A couple of cool super powers would have been just as exciting. This may sound like I hated this book, I didn’t, its still far better than a lot of stories out there and I will certainly continue on with this series. I love Cronin and Alec, and I adore their entourage.
Joel Leslie as always did a brilliant job as narrator, He is by far one of my most favorite audio narrators.
