I found Nathan Lowell’s writing via a recent book The Wizard’s Butler. I loved this book and recommended it. There were a few creepy-guy moments in the story, but I overlooked them. Last week I binged on the Smuggler’s Tales series and really enjoyed them. Then I listened to Quarter-Share, very good sci-fi slice-of-life story telling, then I listened to Half-Share yesterday – which took a strange turn to sexualization of the female characters and an immature and painfully awkward writing of the main character. I read the reviews for this book, Full Share, to see if the author got something out of his system and got back on track with Full Share. Apparently not. I am only at the beginning of this book and he has already shared with his female boss the image of his co-worker in a dog collar and leash working on some slimy sludge cleaning with him and then we get to hear his thoughts as he watches his female boss walk away from him. Enough. I already bought the next book and will be returning that. Not sure if I will ever return to reading any of Nathan Lowell’s books. I don’t read science fiction for a perverted middle-aged man’s thoughts to be shared. We have to put up with creeps in real life – I’m not spending my time and money to do so for entertainment.
